On the installation of the Derale series 8000 plate transmission cooler installed on a 2016 GMC Canyon how much fluid do u have to add and do u add it thru the filler plug or fill the cooler up

It's hard to give an exact amount of fluid you'd have to replace when installing the Derale transmission cooler part # D13503. Reason being there's typically some loss from having the transmission line disconnected and that makes it hard to account for the exact amount lost. I'd grab a quart or so and then once the install is complete check the level like the owners manual of the vehicle recommends and add as much as needed.
