What Is The Measurement From The Ground To Draw-Tite 76076 When Installed On 2017 Audi Q7?

Question:

I just traded my Q7 ... and I forgot to measure how high the hitch receiver is from the ground. With that information, I can obviously decide what rise/fall I need for the hitch for my new car. Can you help?

Expert Reply:

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76076 for the 2017 Audi Q7 you traded in measures 12-1/4" as shown in the included diagram.

This height is not adjustable when you install a hitch on your new vehicle, so to determine which ball mount you will need to tow your trailer level you will need to take a few measurements on your new vehicle and trailer.

First you will need to measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver on your new vehicle once the hitch is installed.

Next you will need to park your trailer on level ground, and level the trailer. Once that is done you will need to measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on your trailer.

If the hitch on your vehicle is higher than your trailers coupler you will need a ball mount with a drop that matches the difference, and if the hitch on your vehicle is lower than your trailers coupler you will need a ball mount with a rise that matches the difference.

I went ahead and linked all of our ball mounts for 2" receivers for you to look through once you take these measurements.
