Question:
Hello, I need help identifying a trailer hub Assembly on a 5x8 enclosed trailer that I have. The part numbers on the back of the hub read 8-249 and MTA13. Thank you

We do have the correct replacement hub and drum for your Dexter 8-249, and there are a couple of options. The only thing that separates them is if you have an E-Z Lube axle (your spindle will have a grease zerk) and what your hub's bolt pattern is.
You will want to match your bolt pattern so you can match your current wheels, and you will have either a 5 on 5" bolt pattern or a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. If you are unsure, I have added a link below to a printable bolt pattern template, as well as a link to a help article on how to measure your bolt pattern if you prefer to go that route. With that said, here are your options.
5 on 5" Bolt Pattern
- Standard: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500 lb Axles # 84556UC3
- E-Z Lube: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500 lb E-Z Lube Axles # 84556UC3-EZ
5 on 5-1/2" Bolt Pattern
- Standard: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500 lb Axles # 84557UC3
- E-Z Lube: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500 lb E-Z Lube Axles # 84557UC3-EZ
For standard axles, if you need grease and a bearing packer, what you can use is the LubriMatic Grease # L11390 with Bearing Packer # PTW1218.
