Question:
How much clearance is needed between door threshold and the bottom of door for the door to close with the solid step installed. What is the thickness of the threshold plate that covers the door on the lippert solid step? My clearance is approximately 3/16.

You will be just fine with the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down, # LC791574. This is designed to replace the trim plate. Please see the attached installation video to get a complete visual the installed arrangement. If installed properly your door will close same as it does now.
