With your 2013 Mercedes GL-450 already having a factory 7 Way installed, the Curt Echo # C51180 will be a great option. This will work with trailers that have electric or electric-over-hydraulic trailer brakes on up to 2 axles. One add on I like to suggest with the Curt Echo is the Manual Override Button # C83HR.
