Leaf Spring Replacement for # SP-053275

Question:

15 years ago I rebuilt my 10,000lb 20foot flat bed trailer using these 12k springs. At the time, that rebuild project was driven by broken 10k leafs. Yesterday I noticed the eye had broken off the rear passenger side main leaf. Looking at the shackle mounts I can see some medium cutting and wear at the front leaf spring eye. During the last rebuild I switched to wet bolts and do try to periodically grease them using a lithium grease. The trailer is starting to get a bit scruffy so Ive been toying with the idea of rebuilding it again. Should I replace the one broken spring now while I prepare for a major suspension rebuild? Should I switch to slipper springs and eliminate some of the wear links? Id be interested in torsions, but in the past the cost has been prohibitive. Is there a torsion option that my existing brakes would mount to? Would a 2inch wide spring offer a longer life option? Are there better options for trailers that see regular max gvwr loads and lots of miles?

If you got 15 years of regular use out of the # e94SR I'd say you did good in that regard as trailer suspension doesn't typically last forever. It's highly recommended to replace leaf springs on trailer in pairs for the left and right side of the trailer but if you can only do one spring right now and you will be using the trailer it is safer to fix the one spring instead of using the trailer with a broken one.

These springs are a solid option and I don't think going to a slipper or torsion would make a noticeable difference.
