Question:
Hello, Im trying to get a rood mounted kayak carrier that will fit on my 2013 Chevy Traverse, but the problem is that even the dealer said it is not fitted with crossbars, but rather has a stubby fininch on each side going the vertical length of the car. Will this product attach? Will I need a professional to drill holes in my roof? Any help is appreciated - I bought the kayak and now have no way to transport it anywhere! Thank you

It sounds like you have a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse with flush rails. In order to mount the Rhino-Rack 2 Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style, part # S512-S512X, or any other kayak carrier to your vehicle, you'll need a roof rack.
I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars, part # RRVA137B-2. These are aero-style bars that reduce wind noise and drag. To mount them to your flush rails, you'll need the 2500 Series Legs, part # RRRLKVA, and the Custom DK Fit Kit, part # DK297.
So, you won't need to drill holes. You'll just need to set up the rack so you can mount the carrier.
I've linked to a video review of the rack below.
