Is the DT56MR A bolt unit or or does it require drilling.

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT95MR you were looking at for your 2020 Ford Escape will not require any drilling for it to be installed.
You will need to open up the access hole on each side of the frame to fit the 1/2" carriage bolts through, and will need to trim the heat shield.
If you are planning on towing with your vehicle you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # TE54FR.
