Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 W/ Short Bed
Question:
I have a 2021 Chevy 2500 diesel standard short bed. it does not have the factory 5th wheel option. But it does have the trailer package. Anyway, I have a Reese head #30049. Do you sell the rest of the items I need to get this installed rails, pins, slider, etc...? Or do you recommend just starting over and buying an entire 5th wheel slider setup? Maybe youd recommend a better 5th wheel manufacture for my truck? Also, the less drilling into my truck bed, the better. Please advise.

If you just have the head and not the full hitch and it's an older model I recommend just getting a whole new set up. Since you have a short bed I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000lbs # C16521 and Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC Truck - Carbide Finish # C16429-204.
The jaws on this hitch prevent rattling and movement and it comes with a three point indicator system to help you easily determine the coupling status of your hitch.
Since this is a custom fit item and not a universal kit it will require less drilling to install as well.
