Is the Yakima Ridgeback 2 Compatible with the Curt Hitch # C11473 on a 2017 Toyota Prius?
Question:
I have a 2017 Toyota Prius and am wondering if the C11473 which you recommend for that car will work with a Yakima RidgeBack 2. Yakima indicates that there needs to be 1 1/2inch min. between center of mounting hole and interior backstop, no more than 7 1/2inch between bumper edge and center of the mounting hole and 1 1/2inch minimum between the edge of the receiver and the center of the mounting hole. Thanks

For the compatibility with the Curt Hitch Receiver # C11473, the Yakima RidgeBack 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # Y02457 will attach to the hitch. If you worried about the rear bumper clearance, the distance from the center of hitch pin hole to closest part of rack is 9-1/2 inches. In order to make sure that the Ridgeback 2 will clear your bumper, I recommend measuring the distance from the center pinhole to the end of the bumper to make sure that it is less than 9-1/2 inches. However, judging by the photo of the hitch installed on your 2017 Toyota Prius, you should not have a clearance issue. I went ahead and attached a photo of the installed hitch below this answer.
As far as the distance between the pinhole and the receiver opening and the backstop, the distance from the pinhole to the front of the hitch is 1.97 inches, and the the distance from the pinhole to the backstop is 5.95 inches.
