Parts Needed to Set Up a 2017 Ram 3500 for an In-Bed Camper While Towing a Boat

Question:

We are purchasing a Lance Camper for our Ram 3500 and I need an extension so I can pull my bass boat. Is this the extension that you would recommend. I have a RAM 3500 dually 4X4. What are the components needed to equip my truck to haul the Lance Truck Camper?

I can definitely list out the parts needed to get your 2017 Ram 3500 Dually all set and ready for your Lance Camper.

First will be the hitch. For this I highly suggest going with the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum # TLD1108-30. It will have a max capacity of 20,000 pounds and will sit just below your factory hitch. This will give you 2 receiver openings, allowing for you to use accessories that have a much higher capacity than just one receiver. This hitch will also determine the next components.

That being the tie downs to keep the Lance Camper secure in the bed. The TorkLift Front Tie Downs # TLD2131 are the same regardless of the hitch, but the Rear Tie Downs # TLR3507 are specific to the # TLD1108-30 and will actually install on the outside of its brackets. The TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK require no tools to connect the camper to the tie downs and comes with locks, making them a very good option over the chain style turnbuckles.

Lastly, the TorkLift SuperTruss Extension # TLE1548 will fit with the # TLD1108-30 as well. With it being 4 feet long and having a 6,000 pound towing weight and 600 pound tongue weight when not using weight distribution, it should handle your Bass boat without any issue.
