The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat part # MA00-06200K has a max amp draw rating of 9 amps on startup. It's best to run a wire straight to the battery so you can ensure the correct gauge is used based on the amp draw and length of wire between the battery and fan. That said, so long as the wire you found for the light meets the above criteria then it will work. I can say that most lights however will not have the appropriate size wire for this application.
