Question:
I plan to buy the e98853 receiver. What is the correct ball hitch? I need a 1 7/8inch ball.

When we installed the etrailer brand # e98853 Class III hitch on a 2011 Toyota Sienna, we found that the inside top edge of the receiver tube sat 12 inches above the ground. The rise/drop of the ball mount you need will depend on the coupler height of the trailer you're wanting to pull. With the trailer jack extended so that the trailer frame is level, measure the distance from the bottom edge of the coupler to the ground. I'll link you to a help article that fully explains how to take this measurement.
The height difference you get will be the rise of the ball mount you need. Anywhere from a 16-19 inch coupler height is pretty typical, and you don't need to get the trailer perfectly level, as long as you're within an inch or two, you'll be just fine.
• For an almost 3 inch rise, use # 2753, the hitch pin is included.
• For a 4 inch rise, the Curt # D-28 would be a good choice. The # PC3 hitch pin is sold separately.
• For an almost 5 inch rise, use # AMSC6 along with the # PC3 hitch pin.
For a 1-7/8 inch ball, I'd recommend # 19260. You'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118498.
I'll link to install videos and instructions for the hitch and trailer wiring harness.
