Rhino-Rack Roof Rack Compatibility With Thule Atlantis 1200XT Roof Cargo Box on 2012 Ford Explorer

I see that these Rhino cross bars will fit my 2012 Ford Explorer with factory raised rails,,,,thats great ! will they also support a Thule Atlantis 1200 XT cargo carrier or a similar clamp oninch cargo carrier?

The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero roof rack for roof rails on your 2012 Explorer would consist of the following parts:

• Vortex Aero 54 inch crossbars in black as # RRVA150B-2 or silver as # RRVA150S-2

• SX Series roof rack legs, part # RRSX100

The older Thule Atlantis 1200XT is compatible with crossbars up to 3-1/4 or so inches wide, the Rhino Rack bars are right at 3-1/8 inches, so they'll fit fine for you. The Atlantis is compatible with bar spreads between 23-5/8 inches and 36-3/4 inches apart, and since the tracks on your roof allow the crossbars to be adjusted all the way to 48-1/2 inches center to center, the bar spread compatibility won't be a problem either.

So, long story short, the Rhino Rack kit listed above is compatible with your 2012 Explorer and the rack is compatible with the Thule Atlantis cargo box you have.
