To get a 36" extension you will need to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15809 which will fit directly underneath your factory hitch and give you a 2-1/2" receiver.

With a 2-1/2" receiver you can use the Titan Hitch Box Extension for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches, 41" - 48" Long # RP45018 which can be cut down to 41" and is the closest option to the 36" length you need.

At 41" long the extension will have a 5000lb trailer weight rating and 500lb tongue weight rating.
