Question:
My 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe OEM cross rails are elliptical-shaped, 2-1/2inch wide and are slightly arced. The distance from the bottom of on the rail to the roof is 2. Is this sufficient clearance for the mounting bracket with enough room to attach the bracket and flex when loaded without scratching my roof. The bracket looks fairly big.

The Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 57" Long x 42" Wide - 165 lbs # RMCB02 has lower brackets that measure 1-1/8" tall (see attached photo). As long as you have 2" of clearance between the bottom of the crossbar and your roof, I don't see an issue with this.
Just make sure you have a crossbar spread that is between 25-1/2" - 43". Crossbar spread is the distance between crossbars, measuring from the center of each bar. I attached a demonstration video for you.
