RoadMaster Falcon All-Terrain Combo Towing Kit Used with 2021 Ford Escape
Question:
I am interested in purchasing a Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain towbar and a Roadmaster baseplate to tow my 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid behind my class A motorhome. Please advise me as to any additional parts I may need. I think the RM-9243-1 kit looks like it contains everything I need to connect but the description of the kit says it has a straight wiring, yet the photo looks like it contains what you refer to as a Hybrid cord, with a partial section that is coiled. Which is it? Will this kit contain everything I need? I want to be able to use the channels in the towbar to hide as much of the safety cables and wiring as possible. Will this kit allow me to do that?

I understand why you ask about the cord and perhaps we can revisit the sites text, it is a hybrid power cord design. By that we mean it's half coiled and half straight, so it's ideal for all-terrain models and other tow bars with channel guides such as the he Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar, # RM-522. Please note the attached product review video.
To flat tow your 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid you will need a base plate kit such as the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, # RM39FR which will mate to the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar, # RM-522 that we have already identified. This is a non-binding type allowing you to unhook your tow vehicle easily and quickly even if you are parked on un-even ground. You will also need the RoadMaster Falcon 2 and Falcon All-Terrain Combo Towing Kit with Straight Wiring, # RM-9243-1 discussed.
For a supplemental braking system I recommend the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System, # SM99251. This is a proportional type brake system that is a confirmed fit for your 2021 Ford Escape. Using this type system system it never has to be removed. The DUO activates when your RV's brake lights go on and an inertia sensor in the towed car detects deceleration. No false braking.
To ensure the battery does not become drained, I suggest the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles, # RM-156-25. This will install in your towed vehicle and if your tow vehicle does not have a factory battery charge line you will also need the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75.
You will most likely require use of a high-low adapter so I have included a link to a helpful article that goes over how to measure for the correct adapter, and a link to all of our high-low adapters for you to take a look at.
In addition, we always always suggest to check the recreational towing section of your vehicles owner's manual for any flat towing restrictions, and for any special steps required to make your vehicle ready to be flat towed.
