Will My Bike Clear My Spare Tire on My 2004 Honda CR-V when Using the Swagman XTC2?
Question:
My 2004 CRV has a spare tire on the back door which swings out from the left, not up. The tire extends about 8inch past the end of the trailer hitch mount, on the passenger side of the vehicle only. If I mount the rear tire of the inner bike on the passenger side, will the frame clear the spare tire? See photo attached. Thanks!

I have a solution for you. Unfortunately, since the 8-inch measurement of the closest wheel hoop on the Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S64671 measures from the hitch pinhole, it will actually add additional length to your measurement (you measured it from the end of the hitch receiver itself).
If you are worried about a bike rack clearing your spare tire on your 2004 Honda CR-V, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # HR200Z. The distance from the pinhole of your receiver to the closest part of the Trail Rider is 12-1/8 inches. This will give you enough room to clear the rear tire on your 2004 Honda CR-V. In order to ensure it will clear your tire, you can measure the pinhole to the end of your tire to get that dimension.
