Roof Top Cargo Carrier Recommendations for 2013 Honda Pilot

Question:

I am looking for a cargo basket for my 2013 Honda Pilot. I have the factory rails and cross bars. I want the largest basket for the most storage but one that wont interfear with the rear hatch when open. I also want one of the nicer looking ones! Any ideas?

I have a couple options for you regarding a roof-top cargo carrier for your 2013 Honda Pilot and they all allow for the unimpeded opening of your rear hatch. Regarding a basket, I recommend the Thule Canyon # TH859XT. It measures 40 inches wide by 49 inches long by 6 inches tall. It has a maximum weight capacity of 150 lbs.

You might also be interested in the Thule Cargo Net # TH692. It secures the items in your MOAB with impact-resistant hooks and is 40 inches by 36 inches unstretched. I have also provided a video review of this product.

Another option is the Rhino-Rack Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket # RMCB with a weight capacity of 165 lbs and inside dimensions of 41 inches long by 30-1/2 wide by 7-13/16 inches deep. I have provided the installation instructions and a video review of this basket.

You may also want to look at the Thule Roof Cargo Carrier # TH859XT. It has a weight capacity of 150 lbs with dimensions of 49 inches long by 40 inches wide by 6 inches deep. I have also provided a link to the video review of this basket.

If you are looking for another option at a lower price, you might be interested in the Thule Tahoe Expandable Roof Rack Cargo Bag # TH867. It has 15-17 cubic feet of space due to a reversible expansion zipper and is 41 inches long by 34 inches wide by 18 inches tall when fully expanded. If you go with this option, be sure the top of your roof and the bottom of the cargo back are both clean in order to prevent any potential scratches or abrasions.

In order to more easily access the items in your new roof-top cargo carrier, you might be interested in the Rhino Rack Wheel Step # RRRWS. It mounts to your vehicles tire and allows you to get to the hard-to-reach places on your roof. I have provided a link to a video review of this product.
