Recommended Extension To Tow Jet Ski Trailer With 2012 Ram 3500 That Has Lance Truck Bed Camper

I have a 2012 Ram 3500 dually with a Lance 1071 camper. I want to tow a pair of Jet Skis. My trucks receiver pin Hole is 35 inches from the face of the campers bumper. I havent been able to find a solution that with place the ball beyond the campers bumper. is that required or can the ball actually be under the campers bumper a little. you guys have a solution that gets close but not quite beyond the bumper. do you have a suggestion? can i use a 2nd extender ? thanks,

If your jet ski trailer has a pretty long pole tongue with nothing mounted to it you very well may be able to get away with an 18" extender # HE18 and a 15-3/4" ball mount # 80232 on your 2012 Ram 3500 Dually with a Lance 1071 Camper.

This combination will push the hitch ball out 32-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole on your Ram, which will put it 2-1/4" behind the bumper on your camper, and has a 350lb tongue weight rating and 3500lb trailer weight rating. If your hitch does not have at least a 700lb tongue weight rating and 7000lb trailer weight rating then you will be limited to 50% of your hitches capacity.

I recommend measuring this distance from the center of the hitch pin hole and putting a piece of tape where the extender and ball mount will sit. Once you've done that measure from the center of the coupler on your trailer to the first obsticale on the tongue that would cause interference. Have a friend hole the tip of a tape measure on the piece of tape you move the tape measure around to see how sharp you would be able to turn before having clearance issues.

If you find you need more clearance then the only option is going to be replacing your factory trailer hitch receiver, as you cannot combine two extensions.

I recommend the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - 2" # TLD1102 which will allow you to use the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 42" Long # TLE1542 which will give you plenty of clearance as it will stick out 7" past your campers bumper. This option has a 600lb tongue weight rating and 6000lb trailer weight rating.

I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
