Do I need an adapter for this rack for a childrens bike like I would need with the SportRack Ridge Swing 4 Bike Rack

Since all children's bikes are made differently, I cannot confirm for sure if you need an adapter bar for the SportRack Ridge Swing 4 Bike Rack - 2" Hitches - Swinging # SR2415. However, if the child's bike is similar to the bike in the attached picture to this answer, I recommend the Malone Bike Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # MPG2165. The adapter bar will provide a straight, horizontal plane to attach to the Ridge.
