Replace The GC10A-2E Water Heater

Question:

Hello, My RV currently has an Atwood GC10A-2E water heater which is no longer available nor is the 3E. From all the research Ive done which has been fairly extensive I can use the 4E. I have found one on Amazon but the two latest reviews from May and June 2021 said they didnt last 2 weeks and they are non-returnable. I called Dometic but like everyone else, was on hold for almost an hour before hanging up. Part of your description says I need 23 1/2 inches deep but the specs as its only 19 3/16 deep. Will the Furion FR93FR tankless and the FR73FR door be a suitable replacement. Also, do you have them in stock?

My suggestion, providing your space allows, is the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater, # FR93FR. This can be used to retro fit an Atwood GC10A-2E providing the envelope is large enough for fitment. While the physical, overall dimensions are 19-3/16" deep x 12-5/8" tall x 12-13/16" wide the installation instructions (Figure 2, page 5) has a note stating that to install on a carpeted area, a metal or wood panel is needed to extend at least 3 inches past the depth. There are small # FR43FR, medium # FR63FR and large # FR73FR, doors available separately.

We do have the option of the Dometic Gas and Electric, # DMC74FR with cutout dimensions needed of 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 19-7/8". This is a 6 gallon, 10,000 btu unit. This has the Water Heater Door Conversion Kit for 6 Gallon Electric and Gas Water Heater, # DMC84FR if needed.
