Recommended Remote Mount Transmission Cooler with Fan for GMC Savana Van
Question:
I have a 1998 Savana 3500 cargo van that we use to pull a small camper. 4000 pounds max. I need to bring my transmission temperature down a bit while in heavy traffic. I’m looking for a transmission oil cooler that has a fan on it so if I get stuck in traffic I won’t over heat. Do you have any suggestions and if you do are all the parts supplied with the cooler to hook it up. Also, the van has a 5.7 liter motor with a 4L80 E transmission. 98 GMC Savana 3500. And it does have a stock transmission cooler up front witch does fine for highway driving, but not so much for if I get stuck in traffic Thanks for any help you can offer.

It sounds like you're looking for a remote mount transmission cooler. If that's the case we have some great options. The only hurdle to overcome is finding a place to mount it but so long as you have space there should not be too many issues. I recommend the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13960 which measures 13" wide x 10" tall x 5-5/8" deep.
