Recommended Safety Chains and Bolt Size Needed To Attach To Demco Coupler # DM16680-52
Question:
What size bolt size is required to hook up the safety chain.
asked by: Chuck V
Helpful Expert Reply:
Demco says to use 1/2" Grade 8 bolts 1-1/2" long for the safety chains on the Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler # DM16680-52.
I recommend the Buyers Products 3/8" x 35" Class 4 Trailer Safety Chain # 337BSC3835. You will need 2 of these as they are sold individually. The chain comes with a large clevis hook for your hitch and is zinc coated to resist corrosion.
