Carrying A Kayak On A 2011 Ford F-150 With A Ladder Rack
Question:
2011 Ford F-150 super-crew. 5-1/2 ft bed with tool box. Looking for a good rack to carry fishing kayaks but not have to remove tool box. I did not see any articles or pictures with this set-up. Do I have to do a roof rack with ladder rack? Any suggestions or ideas welcome Thanks

The tool box in your truck bed will interfere with your ladder rack. We have had customers work around this by putting their tool box in between the ladder rack uprights. With this setup you will have a ladder rack at the bulkhead in your truck and the toolbox just behind it.
The Thule TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Fixed Mount - 800 lbs - Silver, part # TH27000XT, will work with your 2011 Ford F-150. You will be able to move your tool box and mount it behind your forward most ladder rack legs. This ladder rack has a weight limit of 800lbs. This ladder rack can be installed with no drilling. It has load stops where you can strap down your load during transport.
You do not have to do a roof rack to transport your kayak.
I have included a product description link and a video review link below.
