A couple things you can try to get the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider - Dual Jaw # C16536 to open up to get your pin out would be to make sure you are on a level surface to release as much pressure off of the head as possible and to make sure your grease points are properly greased. The manufacturer does recommend using black graphite grease. I have included a picture with the proper grease points. If you are in need of a grease gun we do have the LubriMatic Standard-Duty, Lever Action Grease Gun # L30200 available.

If those steps have been done or are not working you can try moving back and forth very slightly to see if you can move whatever is binding. Sometimes it requires just finding the position that has the least amount of tension on the jaw for the release of the king pin.
