Extension Other Than the Long Hitch Connector Assembly for the Blue Ox Aventa Tow Bars

Question:

Several years ago I purchased the Blue Ox Aventa LX Tow Bar which has the 84-0096 2inch receiver hitch connector with a Blue Ox BX88128 2inch hitch and installed the Blue Ox KarGard II BX88255 all purchased through etrailer. That system has worked well since installed until I went from a Fiat 500 to a Jeep Wrangler. Towing the Jeep I no longer need the 2inch hitch and once removed, and does fit snug, my exhaust melts the KarGard. Without the hitch the towing system is 4 inches shorter causing the exhaust to melt the KarGard. The cure is the Blue Ox 2inch receiver 84-0097, which everything indicates is not longer available and recommends using the BX84-0187 which would increase the towing system length 4inch more than needed and would cause dragging going over dips with the motorhome. Does Blue Ox not have a replacement for the 84-0097 other than the BX84-0187? What would the BX88-265 tow bar extender extend my system measured between the bolt holes on the extender? Appreciate your assistance,

The Blue Ox Aventa Tow Bar you are referencing is no longer available. If I am understanding you correctly you no longer need the Blue Ox High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars # BX88128 because your Jeep sits differently than your Fiat did, but that you are still needing to extend the distance from the back of your RV in order to not melt your KarGard II.

If that is correct, then the Blue Ox Hitch Extender for Tow Bars # BX88265 will work for you. The High-Low was a total of 13-1/2" but extended 8" from center of pin hole to center of pin hole. The Hitch Extender will give you two different extension options depending on how far you need. Either 6-3/4" center of pin hole to center of pin hole or 8-3/4" center of pin hole to center of pin hole. That is more on par with the High-Low you'd be replacing than the Long Hitch Connector Assembly BX84-0187 that is 16" in total length. The Hitch Extender is also rated at 10,000 pounds which is the same as your Aventa Tow Bar.
