Replacement 12 x 2 Inch Electric Brake Assemblies for K-H KAE-96002-02

Question:

I am looking to replace my trailer brakes on an old trailer. The numbers on it are K-H KAE-96002-02. It has 4 bolt mounting and is a 12x2 hub. I believe the Dexter - Electric Brake Assembly for 4 Bolt or 5 Bolt Flange - 12inch - Right Hand - 6,000 lbs will work but want to run it by someone.

It looks like the studs in your brake assembly are closer together (center to center) at the bottom. If the center to center bolt spacing matches the photo I've provided, then the # 23-105-09 you'd looked at would be the correct replacement brake assembly that's compatible with a 12 x 2 inch (inside depth and diameter) brake drum.

I've linked to a product video that you might find helpful.

Hey Mike. I am looking for electric brakes for my cattle trailer and I’m not having any luck. I saw this post and noticed the old brake assembly was the same as mine. I ordered the 023-106- 09 just like the one you suggested. It will not work. I know if the customer ordered this one he also had the same issues. I was wondering if you found something else comparable for this customer.

@Jlg I'd be happy to help. Can you elaborate a bit on how they're not fitting, please?
