Since we do not offer a direct replacement for a 8.75/R16.5 tire I can only offer replacement options for both your wheels and tires. Some things that are important when choosing a replacement in this instance are the weight capacity of the tire, making sure there is enough clearance since we are changing tire size, and knowing your current bolt pattern.

As far as the tire goes, I recommend an ST235/85R16 tire as a replacement. The ST235/85R16 is 31.6" in diameter with a width of 9.37" which is more than your current tires. The 8.75/R16.5 tires you have are 30.5" in diameter and 8.75" wide. To have enough clearance for the trailer to travel over bumps in the road it is recommended to have at least 3-4" between the tire tread and the fenders as well as 1-2" between the side wall and inside of the wheel well.

Since you will need different wheels to fit the tire, it will be necessary to know the current bolt pattern. For example, if you have a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern I would recommend the # AM32734 Karrier with 16" Aluminum wheel for your boat trailer. If you have an 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern I recommend the # LHAXSO513B Westlake with 16" Bobcat Aluminum Wheel.

You will want to make sure that the tires used on your trailer will have the correct load carrying capacity that will exceed the weight capacity of your trailer. The # AM32734 has a maximum load of 3,640 lbs at 95 psi and for dual tire applications 3,200 lbs at 95 psi. The # LHAXSO513B has a maximum load of 4,080 lbs at 110 psi and for dual tire applications 3,640 lbs at 110 psi.

If you find that you have a different bolt pattern or that the tire will not have enough clearance please reach out and I would be happy to make a recommendation based on the information you provide.

I have attached some helpful articles on tires and wheels including how to measure the bolt pattern as well as a review video for your reference.
