Recommended Rails And 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 With An 8' Bed

Question:

I measured the rails in my Dodge Ram 2005 3500 8 ft bed at inside 38 3/4inches and 42 inches where the slides would slide in. Are these hitches adjustable?

It sounds to me like you have one of the older Demco rails which have been discontinued. You'll have to replace the rails to be able to have a hitch fit on them. I recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3200 with the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWRVK2600.

B&W is known for quality and that's exactly what you'll get with the B&W Patriot. It has a rounded 2-piece jaw on which inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride. The non-Binding latch handle allows you to quickly and easily release the jaws on the hitch, even if you are on uneven terrain. The pivot arms can be adjusted front to back as well as up and down for optimal positioning. As a result, this hitch can accommodate the height of your trailer and also help to give you the cab clearance needed to execute turns while towing. The rails are a custom fit as well so you'll be able to cut down on installation time by using the factory holes in your vehicle's frame.

This hitch is rated for 16,000lbs so if your trailer requires a heavier weight capacity then just let me know and I can find the correct fit for your needs.
