Will Yakima ShowDown fit 2016 Mazda CX-5 With Factory Roof Rack

Hi, Id like to get a lift assist for my kayak. Looking at the Yakima ShowDown but would it fit my factory installed roof rack or would I need to buy more crossbars?

According to Yakima, the # Y04081 ShowDown will not fit your 2016 Mazda CX-5 with a factory rack. This carrier requires crossbars that extend beyond the towers in order to ensure that the sliding arms have enough clearance. The crossbars must extend at least 3-1/2" beyond the towers.

Instead of replacing your crossbars or roof rack, I recommend the # MPG114MD-351XL Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist w/ Tie-Downs. This system will work with your factory crossbars. It has a weight capacity of 75 lbs and tie-downs are included. I have attached a review video for your reference.
