Question:
Hi I have an e2 hitch on my SUV connected to my RV trailer and needed to back the trailer in a spot on the campsite. The trailer needed to be backed in with a sharp turn at almost a 90 degree angle and with me pulling a trailer for the first time ever I opted for the grounds keeper to do it for me. The next day when I checked out from the campsite I immediately noticed there is severe groaning and squeaking coming from the hitch every time I make a right turn. I also noticed there is more swaying happening at higher speeds than before the backing. My question is, did the backup cause damage to my anti sway arms? I know this hitch allows for backup without unhooking the sway arms but what about backing up with a sharp angle?! Thanks

That is a really sharp angle for your trailer and weight distribution system to be backed in with. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution item # FA94-00-1000 can be backed up without unhooking but it sounds like you have bent something. I would first check your round bars and brackets that attach the bars to your trailer to make sure they are not bent or damaged. If everything looks ok you should go back and readjust all the brackets and make sure you follow the original set up instructions to insure the proper tension has been placed back on the weight distribution system. If you're still having issues we do offer replacement parts for your Fastway system. The Replacement Round Spring Bar is item # FA94-02-1099. The Replacement Sway-Control L-Bracket for Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Systems is item # FA93-02-5150.
