Recommended Bike Rack For Bacchetta CarbonAero 3.0 Carbon Fiber Recumbent Bike

Question:

I have a Bacchetta CarbonAero 3.0 carbon fiber frame. Is this rack recommended for bikes with carbon fiber frames? Im also looking at the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4inch and 2inch Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting Item # C18085 The rack will go on a 2013 Santa Fe Sport with an 1 1/4inch class 2 receiver hitch. Can you make a recommendation? Thanks

I have a solution for you, but the Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # S64671 and Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 you were looking at are both frame-mount and are not recommended for carbon fiber frames as they could potentially scratch the frame. Instead, you will want to go with a wheel-mount bike rack like the Yakima HoldUp EVO Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" Hitches - Wheel Mount # Y02480.

This carrier fits wheelbases up to 48" which is large enough for your Bacchetta CarbonAero 3.0 recumbent bike which should have either a 46" or 47" wheelbase depending on your exact model.
