Recommended Replacement Brake Assembly for Old Trailer With Wide 5 lug Brake Flange

I ordered a set of electric brakes that were five lug but this old trailer has the wide five lug pattern. Do you guys sell brakes for the old wide ones. Thanks

Although we might have a solution for you, we don't sell any brake assemblies that would be compatible with the brake mounting flange shown in your photo.

You've got a few options.

• You could remove the existing brake flanges if possible and replace them with modern 5 bolt. The
mounting flange you need would depend on the diameter of your axle beam.

• You could also replace the spindles with an axle stub that has an integrated brake flange and uses
modern, easily available bearing sets. The stub you need would depend on the axle beam diameter and
the capacity of your axle.

• You could replace the entire axle, using a standard beam axle. We sell some of the more popular size
axles off-the-shelf. To recommend one, I'd need to know the desired capacity, the hub face to hub face
dimension of your existing axle and the distance between the spring seats, center to center.

• You could also use a Timbren Axle-Less suspension which are available in capacities up to the equivalent
of a 3500 lb axle such as part # A35RS545E.

Once you get a compatible brake flange on there, you can install a compatible brake assembly.

So, if you could reply with the information mentioned above, I can certainly make some more specific suggestions for you.
