Recommended Adjustable Ball Mount With High Tongue Weight for a 2-1/2" Hitch

I bought the 2.5- 10inch aluminum hitch, to haul skid steer with my Sterling Truck several months ago this year, and yesterday the locking pin fell out after we took the hitch off the reciever, looked like it had failed in the past and then finally finished breaking. Have you experienced this before. Maybe we need more tounge weight?

If one of the pins broke, I do recommend going with a product that has a higher towing and tongue weight. With the Weigh Safe 2-Ball Mount w/ Built-In Scale - 2-1/2" Hitch - 10" Drop, 11" Rise # WS10-25 having a max tongue weight capacity of 2,200 pounds and 18,500 pound towing capacity with the 2-5/16" ball, the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch - 9" Drop/Rise # 325-GH-1925 may be a better option.

The # 325-GH-1925 is rated up to 32,000 pounds towing and 3,500 pounds of tongue weight when using the 2-5/16" ball. It does have slightly less drop at 9 inches, but the capacity will be significantly higher and should get you all squared away.

If you wanted to get your # WS10-25 up and running again as well, we do have replacement parts for it. I wasn't sure which pin you were referring to so I provided both the one that locks the ball in place and the 2 prong one that locks the platform in place.
