Does Curt Roof Rack Fit 2017 VW Golf Sportwagon SE 1.8T and Allow Glass Roof to Open

Question:

It appears that the C18118 cross bars will fit my 2017 VW Golf Sportwagon SE. Two questions: 1 will I be able to open my sliding panoramic sunroof? 2 what upright bike rack do you recommend with these cross bars Thanks.

The Curt roof rack part # C18118 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen with raised rails. It's hard to say if the panoramic roof will still be able to open as Curt has not given us that info but based on pictures I've seen of what your roof looks like when open I would say that it most likely would interfere since the glass ends up almost flush with the top of the side rails. Even if you could open the roof though you wouldn't most likely want to since there would be a lot of noise created from the crossbars.

The Thule ProRide XT part # TH598004 then would be a really great option for a bike rack as well as it fits the Curt bars, is easy to use, well-made, and allows you to keep the front wheel on the bike.
