Typically a 4 Flat plug will not have a lead that goes to a battery as the White wire is the Ground, The Yellow is Left Turn/Brake, Green in Right Turn/Brake, and Brown is Running Lights. If you were using this for a different application, you can technically use any of the wires to run to the battery, but I do recommend using the White as the Ground as this is the standard.
If you are using this as trailer wiring, I recommend going a different way. The Deka Jacketed 6-Wire # DW04906-1 will use 14 gauge wires and may suit your needs better. This can then be paired with the Hopkins Wiring Harness with 5-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM37918 on the trailer side, and the Curt 5-Pole Flat Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ Mounting Bracket # C58545 on the vehicle side. The 5th pole on these is usually used for reverse lights, but can also be used for the 12 volt power in your case.
