Question:
Hello, I have several questions about the GenY Gooseneck Pin Box adapter for my 2014 Keystone Cougar 337FLS 1. Do I need the 18K or the 21K model? 2, Do I need the Shim Kit for that Trailer? 3. What is the best way to attach the safety chains to that unit? 4. Is there a Lock to prevent the camper from disappearing from storage to fit in that coupler?

The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box part # GY58GR is designed for the most common pin box pattern which is a Lippert 1621/1621HD. In order to confirm fit you'll have to reach out to the trailer frame manufacturer, Lippert, with the serial number off the pin box brackets. We aren't able to look up this info for any one particular trailer unfortunately.
In regards to the 18K part # GY56FR vs 21K part # GY58GR , this simply needs to exceed the GVWR of the trailer. The shim kit you referenced part # GY76FR is for Lippert 1116 pin boxes. For a lock, we have the Gen-Y Manual Latch Gooseneck Coupler Lock part # GY89FR. There are cutouts on the side of the adapter to attach the safety chains.
