To find the correct wires on the taillight connector of your 2017 Ford Fusion to connect to the Curt Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # C63CR you will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test each wire going to the tail lights.

Your Fusion has combined wiring meaning the turn signal and brake lights are shared so you will need to find the factory wire that comes on when pressing the brake pedal and connect the red wire of the Curt harness in to that wire. Next you will need to find the tail light wire that gets power when the running/head lights of your vehicle are turned on and connect the brown wire of the Curt harness to that wire. Since your vehicle has combined wiring the green and yellow wires are not used.

On the Curt harness each wire will have an input side and an output side. The input side will get connected to the section of the wire factory wire running towards the front of the vehicle, and the output side will get connected to the section of the factory wire running towards the tail light.

I included a video of the # C63CR being installed along with a link to the written instructions to aid you with the installation.
