What Parts Are Needed To Install a Brake Controller on a 2011 Mercedes GL-450 With Factory 7-Way?

I have a 2011 Mercedes GL-450. I have a factory installed trailer hitch with seven pin connector. Does the RedArc Tow Pro Elite work on a 2011 Mercedes GL-450? If so, in addition to the unit, what wiring harness/ connector plug do I need to buy to connect my vehicles wiring it to the RedArc Tow Pro Elite. If the RedArc is not the best unit, can you tell me which one will work for my vehicle?

You will need to confirm that there is a factory brake controller connector on your 2011 Mercedes GL-450. You will need to lower the bottom dash panel that is located below your steering wheel. Behind the panel you may have a green 4 prong connector that the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3066-P will connect to.

If you locate this connector the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter # 331-TPH-017 can be used to connect the Tekonsha pigtail to the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR.

If you cannot locate this connector you will want to use a wireless brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # TK94FR. This controller will not require any wiring in your Mercedes as it gets it power from the charge line on the 7-way trailer connector.
