Adjusting Fit Of Reese 5TH Wheel Rail Adapter To Fit the Bed Of a 2019 Ram 2500

Question:

Team I have tried to install the unit and have not had any success. The only way to get it to fit would be to grind a a portion of on of the front pucks so it will in. Question? The OEM puck receiver in the bed of the ram has larger front holes than the rear. The Reese 30154 has the same size pucks on all 4 corners. Is this correct. The pucks in the front have alot of play. Thank You

The Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # RP30154 should have 2 different size pins that are installed on the adapter. I have attached a copy of the instructions below that shows the 2 different size pins on page 2. The rear pucks should receiver the larger pins on your 2019 Ram 2500.

It will sometimes happen that the adapter will not fit the truck perfectly out of the box due to minor factory variances in either the truck or adapter. You can adjust the pins to be an exact fit in your bed if this is the issue. To adjust the handles you will need to remove the end caps and cotter pins. Then you will need to loosen the 1" jam nut, this will allow the pins to adjust on the anchor bushing and properly fit into all the holes.

Is there a video to instruct me how to tighten the jam nut assembly on the Reese adapter into my Ram puck system? 1 of my picks is very loose. The hitch is in my truck, but I need to tighten the passenger side rear puck. Please help. Thanks ke

@Kw We unfortunately do not have a video. You will need to adjust handle tension when locked; first remove adapter from pucks. Next, while keeping the handle to tee pin orientation, remove the cotter pin. To loosen, rotate the tee pin counterclockwise ½ rotation, and replace cotter pin. Conversely, if there is too much clearance in the attachments when locked, the clearance can be removed by rotating the tee pin clockwise ½ rotation, and replacing the cotter pin. If adapter still will not securely pin into underbed mounting kit, or is still too loose, steps may need to be repeated
