Can Travel Trailer Cover be Used for Horse Trailer

Question:

I am looking for a cover for a horse trailer. Many have said to buy a cover for a toy hauler instead for they are longer and cover the horse trailers better. Do you agree with that. The horse trailer is 14 feet long.

There isn't necessarily anything wrong with buying a cover that is a little larger than what you'll need for your horse trailer. It just means that you'll need to find a way to keep the extra material tied down. Typically we recommend going with a cover for a bumper pull cargo trailer but I would imagine that one for a travel trailer would fit, there would just be some extra material you'd need to tuck away.

The part we normally recommend is # 290-46003.

The part for a travel trailer that you'll want is # AD57ZR.

Review videos for each have been attached for you to check out. Please note that the cover for the travel trailer doesn't have a zippered panel at the back like some do for the larger toyhaulers, but it does have the zippered panel on the passenger side.

Question:

Thank You Jon, The only issue I have with the Adco covers is that the web site states "works best for short-term storage in moderate climates". What does short term mean? Would it hold up during a Chicago winter? Take Care

I definitely can see where you are coming from. Some people will only have their trailers in storage for the winter season while others will have it in storage basically all year long and only take it out once or twice. If your trailer will only be in storage for a shorter amount of time (a handful of months) then you would normally be okay, but being in a Chicago winter might have an effect on that as well if your trailer is just sitting out in the open. If your trailer is under some cover or you don't get quite as harsh of a winter as Chicago is known for then you'll be just fine with the regular cover.

For something more durable you can use the Storage Lot Cover # 290-74838 instead, which is designed to be a bit more tough since it is normally installed on trailers that sit in storage the vast majority of the year.
