Best Bike Rack Options for Standard Bikes and Class I Hitch

I have a 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchback. Want to treat my wife and I to new bikes and haul them to out of state parks.I saw some of your recommended carriers for E-bikes but prefer a Thule regular bike option, thanks.

Of course! The first thing to keep in mind is that your 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchback will have a Class I hitch like the Draw-Tite # 24984 so it does limit some of the options we can use, but there are still plenty of options and I'm confident we have something that you'll both enjoy.

For an easy-to-use hanging style bike rack I recommend the Thule Helium Pro # TH9042PRO. This offers premium features that make installation and operation much easier than a lot of other hanging style racks that we offer. To top it all off this comes with bike and rack locks for some peace of mind.

Something to keep in mind is that you might want to have easy access to the rear hatch of your vehicle to get to anything that you've packed away for your trip. With the Helium Pro you will have to remove your bikes prior to tilting the rack away so in this case a platform rack like the Saris SuperClamp EX # SA4025F would be a better option. This is a nice rack compared to some of the mid-range options.

If you aren't married to the Thule brand then I do have one other recommendation for you that I think you'll really like. Kuat is a company that focuses on premium bike racks and for your application the NV 2.0 Base # BA12B is what I recommend going with. This rack has the perfect combination of ease-of-use, durability, and great looks. The folding/tilting feature can be engaged by foot, each bike has it's own cable lock, and the matte black finish looks amazing but it more durable than pretty much any other finish you'll find on a bike rack, which will serve you well since you'll be going to state parks to ride.

Something else you might benefit from is the ability to also get the Trail Doc # TDKB which installs on the NV 2.0 Base and makes adjusting/fixing your bikes at the trailhead much more practical.

Attached are review videos for all 3 bike racks for you to check out and compare.
