There will be no issue at all towing an 800 pound trailer with the Curt # C11381 once installed on your 2014 BMW 535i. This is rated to tow up to 2,000 pounds and will handle the weight perfectly fine, but you will need a few other parts to complete the set up.

First will be a ball mount and ball. The correct ones will depend on where the hitch sits and how far the coupler sits off the ground as well as the coupler size. As a few examples, the Curt Ball Mount # C45021 will have a 4 inch rise, so if the bottom of the coupler is at 16 inches and the top of the receiver is 12 inches, this would make a good option. If said coupler is a 1-7/8", you will need the # C40001. If it is a 2", you will need the # C40018. The # F-4 pin and clip will then hold everything in place.

The last thing you will need is some wiring. We have 2 options available for this and the correct one for you will depend on if you are ok with splicing into your vehicle's wiring or not.

If you are ok with it, the Tekonsha Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119190KIT will be the lesser expensive option, but still a good option.

However, if you prefer to not splice into your wiring, the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT will be the better option. Though it is more expensive, this is also the one I highly recommend. Other than a wire than needs to run up to the battery, it will not actually cut or even make any contact with the wires. This will keep all the computers and other electrical systems in your 2014 BMW 535i fully protected.
