7 Pin Wiring for 2021 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid

2021 Rav4 hybrid with 12v battery in the rear to tow a tear camper with wireless brake controller Prodigy RF installed. nothing currently setup in Rav4. What do you suggest for a 7 pin wiring harness and external socket 7 pin only. Can I avoid running wires to the front of the vehicle for the brake signal feeding the controller? Love your videos - any apply here?

I would be happy to help you find a 7 pin vehicle connector for your RAV4 Hybrid. You are not going to need to use the brake controller wire if you are using the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller item # TK94FR.

With your 2021 Toyota RAV4 you're going to need two separate parts to get you the 7 pin you will need to run your trailer brakes. The first one you will need is the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C56434. The Curt connector plugs directly into existing wiring behind your RAV4's rear tail lights. The convenient location of the battery in your vehicle means you will not have to run anything to the front!

The second harness you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it. Since you're using a Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller item # TK94FR, you're not going to need to connect the blue brake wire so I recommend capping it off to prevent it shorting out.

I have attached three videos for you.
