Recommended Lock for 2 Inch Lipless Cast Coupler While Towing and Unhooked

Question:

Hi. I need a lock for a lipless cast coupler that fits a 2” ball. I need a lock that protects the trailer when attached to my vehicle’s 2” ball and when the trailer is unattached. One or two solutions is fine. Prefer something that will weather well and provide resistance to drilling/bolt cutters, etc. Thanks!

For a lock for your lipless cast coupler I recommend the Blaylock EZ Lock Trailer Coupler Lock for 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" Couplers - Aluminum # BLTL-33-40D. This lock has 3 pin hole positions for a tight fit on a variety of couplers and uses a stainless steel padlock with a hardened steel shackle to secure the pin in place. The aluminum construction will help resist wear and corrosion.

If you would prefer a high-end lock that is specifically made for couplers without a lip, we also have the AMPLock Trailer Coupler Lock for 2" Ball Couplers w/o Lip - Ductile Cast Iron # AMP54FR.

For a lock while attached to your tow vehicle, I recommend the Bulldog Adjustable Coupler Lock # BD580410. This adjustable lock slides through the latch on your coupler to keep it secure. It uses a rubber-encased pin tumbler cylinder and has side key entry with a sliding dust cap.

I have attached several video reviews on the different locks for you to check out.
