Question:
I am considering this device to use with my generator to ensure the sine wave quality or poor total harmonic distortion is not affecting my electronics. Will the voltage surge limiter protect for this?

The Portable Power Watchdog Surge Protector # HU87FR is not going to accomplish what you are hoping for. The Watchdog just monitors the power and shuts the power down if the voltage falls outside of the safe operating range. It will not fix harmonic distortion, for that you would need an inverter. Your best bet is going to be to get a generator that already has an inverter. Something like the A-iPower 2,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generator # 289-SUA2000i for 2,000 watts or the A-iPower 3,800-Watt Portable Inverter Generators # 289-SUA2000i-2 for 3,800 watts. The inverter controls the voltage that is produced. This feature ensures the generator is safe to use with your electronic equipment such as cell phones, computers, and medical devices.
