Can Küat Pivot 2 Swinging Hitch Adapter Be Used with Other Manufacturer's Bike Racks
Question:
Hi, Im assuming this swing hitch will accept any bike rack with a 2 inch shank, not just Kuat racks. Is that correct? Thanks

Although there's no reason why the Küat # PVD20B driver's side or # PVP20B passenger side swinging hitch adapter wouldn't work with bike racks from other manufacturers, Küat hasn't tested them which is why we state that they're for use with Küat racks. We haven't received any feedback stating that the adapter hasn't worked with any given bike rack.
Yakima states that their # Y02483 BackSwing is compatible with most bike racks.
The important thing to consider when using a swinging adapter is the effect it will have on your hitch capacity. Because the adapter extends the distance between the bike rack and the hitch, it will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by half. This means that the 40 some-odd lb weight of the adapter, the weight of the rack and the weight of the bikes cannot exceed 50% of the hitch tongue weight capacity (listed on the ID sticker affixed to the hitch). For instance, if your hitch has a 500 lb tongue weight capacity, the combined weight of the adapter, the bike rack and the bikes couldn't exceed 250 lbs.
