Recommended Stacked Receiver To Haul A Bike Rack And Dolly Tow A 2009 Mini Cooper
Question:
Have a Renegade motorhome built on a Freightliner chassis. This thing will tow a locomotive: so, no issues there. Have a heavy bike rack Kuat NV 2.0, it weighs 52 lbs and has a 2” hitch. 2 heavy E-mountain bikes go on it 60 lbs each: 175 lbs total here. Also, want to tow a Mini Cooper on a tow dolly will probably need to the hitch for the dolly 4-8”. What is the best set up to get for this application?

To haul your Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # BA22B and your Mini Cooper on tow dolly you can use a Gen-Y stacked receiver like the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7-1/2" Drop/Rise - 10K # 325-GH-304 or Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 12-1/2" Drop - 10K # 325-GH-316. You'll just want to make sure the stack receiver you purchase has enough of a drop or rise to keep your tow dolly level. To help you with this I've attached our help guide on measuring for a trailer hitch drop below.
These stack receivers will allow you to insert the ball mount shank for your tow dolly and the bike rack shank at the same time without reducing your tongue weight capacity by 50%.
