Question:
I have the BandW Companion however it came without “foot pads” of any type, only a flat rubber pad under the flat framework of the hitch. The hitch does appear to lay flat on the corrugated bed but was wondering of the hitch should have or needs the rubber pads instead again do to the corrugated bed design? Thank you for your reply and information.

The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W should have long plastic foot pads that fit into the slats of a corrugated bed, but there should not be the need of any other kind of pad. With that said, the long plastic foot pads should be used even if the base looks to be sitting properly. These limit/prevent side to side and front to back movement so not all the weight and stress are on the gooseneck hitch.
